Yoon-Jung is from Seoul, South Korea. She received her B.S. in Food & Nutrition and Chemistry in 2015, and M.S. in Chemistry in 2017 at Seoul National University. During her undergraduate and master program in Prof. Tae-Lim Choi’s lab, she focused on C-H amidation polymerization to synthesize fluorescent polysulfonamides. Then, she moved to University of Minnesota for her Ph.D., where she studied structure-property relationships of sustainable polymers in Prof. Marc Hillmyer’s lab. After graduation, she moved to Princeton University for her postdoctoral research in Prof. Erin Stache’s lab. Her postdoctoral research focused on developing photothermal depolymerization for a variety of plastics. She joined the Boydston group in 2025. Outside the lab, she enjoys playing tennis and watching Netflix.
